There are many ways to involve the energy of light and color in our healing journey

There is the obvious of taking in the sunshine as a way of benefiting our health and well being.

There is also use of different types of light for specific health practices.

This could be the use of full spectrum light to balance emotional conditions brought on by deficits of certain light.

This could also be the use of low level laser light to restore balance and healing from conditions such as pain, injury, and even allergies…

There is also the properties of color, and how they effect us. When we use color intentionally to help us balance our health, that is a therapeutic use of color.

For instance, Red is the lowest of the seven Colors in the visible spectrum and is known as a “warm” Color. It is most often stimulating and energizing therefore it can be helpful for tiredness and lethargy.

As a simple application, we all have our favorite clothes and color’s, and we may select certain colors for a power presentation, for instance, but we would not necessarily wear that for a funeral. It is important to have a balance of all the Colors.

Some people may believe that a certain Color does not suit them, but there is no need to exclude this Color from your wardrobe completely, in fact to do so would be to limit that color’s vibration and may upset the body’s balance.

Visualizing Color

Using images to focus the mind when visualizing Color

Visualizing Color is easy with a little practice. Certain Color Breathing exercise can help here. If we can visualize the Color we need, we can access this Color and it’s healing energy, any time, anywhere.

In our workshops, there are many exercises that you can learn which can be very effective for you.

For instance, you can visualize yourself wherever you feel safe and relaxed, whether that be in nature with flowers of lovely Colors, walking through a wood full of bluebells or swimming in a beautiful blue sea or lying on a white sand beach watching the sea.

Wherever, you choose for your safe haven – visualize the Color you want to work with and, still being conscious of your breathing, absorb that Color, holding your in breath for a few moments whilst that Color fills your body, then breath out all the stress, pain and turmoil. Repeat this process often.

We are surrounded by Color

When exploring some of the connections of Color Therapy and Nature, one of the most obvious is, of course, flowers. They are a very big part of the Colors we are all used to seeing around us. Nature is full of healing energy and it is there for us all to share and to enjoy. We can learn to see.

It is not only the plants and trees and their flowers and fruits which provide us with Color, but also the many wonderful creatures who share this planet with us who contribute to the amazing Color palette, and the planet herself.

What more dramatic Colors could you ask for than the variations of the blues of the sky, the blue/greens of the oceans, and the reds and oranges of sunsets – to name but a few.

The subject of Nature is enormous, and in our workshops we will explore the Color Therapy / Nature connection .

There are seven main energy centers (chakras) of the body which resonate with the seven rainbow Colors. Anyone who is familiar with Reiki or with Acupuncture will realize that there are a large number of minor chakras throughout the body totaling something in excess of 300.

What are Chakras?

Chakras are like sprials of energy

A Chakra is like a spiral of energy, each one relating to the others. Chakra (pronounced sha-kra) is the Sanskrit word for ‘ wheel ‘ or moving vortex of energy.

If you can imagine the main chakras / energy centers as a set of cogs/wheels, they are rather like the workings of a clock or an engine; each cog /wheel needs to move smoothly and at a similar speed for the clock / engine to work properly.

Thus good health and well being is achieved by a balance of all these energies (or the smooth running of the cogs/wheels).

Color Therapy uses Color to balance the Chakras of the body

Each of the spectrum Colors is simply light of varying wavelengths, thus each Color has its own particular energy.

The energy relating to each of these spectrum Colors resonates with the energy of each of the seven main chakras of the body.

Color therapy can help to re balance these ‘wheels’ by applying the appropriate Color to the body and therefore re-balance our chakras. Listed below is each of the spectrum Colors and the chakra which it relates to. Violet has the shortest wavelength and red the longest wave length.

Color therapy can help

Color is absorbed by the eyes, skin and skull and our electro-magnetic field/aura.

The energy of Color can have an affect upon us on all levels, that is to say, physical, spiritual and emotional. Every cell in the body needs light energy – thus Color energy has widespread influence on the whole body.
