The most important herbs that you need to know are right in your own back yard, or growing nearby. Therefore it is not only fun, but very educational to take a walk with the goal of identifying herbs and knowing their uses.
So lets take a walk on the wild side! We will see what’s growing wild in your neighborhood this season.
We do walks on the rail trail in Carmel; The Putnam County Farm at Tilly Foster in Carmel/Brewster NY; and Fahnestock State Park in Kent/Lake Carmel/Cold Spring, NY.
Come take an herb walk with an herbalist and learn to identify and discover medicinal plants commonly found here.
This class is set up for beginners. We will only study 10 or so plants so that you can learn at a nice pace.
So check the weather and dress well.
Bring your camera if you would like so as to help you identify the plants later on.
Estimated time: 1 ½ to 2 hours depending on class size and location.
Let’s leave the pets at home today.
